YARI BUNDY | JOSH CASEY

Over the last four years Yari Bundy and Josh Casey have been producing and writing music for some of the Bay Area’s brightest emerging artists including; Wax Poet(s) Dance Company, Heather Stockton, KABAAM, Leila Weefur’s Between Beauty and Horror, ghunghru.fm and Ghost Lore.

Before moving to the Bay Area in 2010, Yari spent time exploring the musical traditions of West African drumming and Javanese gamelan at Arizona State, all while performing, collaborating and touring with multiple bands including; Human Mirror and Yourchestra. In his home town of Dallas, TX, Josh worked with the Perot Museum of Nature and Science to compose music for a number of their interactive exhibits. He also produced original dance music and performed at local clubs before moving to the bay area in 2012. Bundy and Casey both received their MFA’s in electronic music from Mills College in 2015. As a duo, they are known for their infectious performances, showcasing a chemistry and attention to detail that create seamless journeys through worlds of sound. Drawing from an array of modern music production styles and vintage explorations, their compositions, productions and sound design continue to push the boundaries of visceral soundscapes and emotional narrative.  

Their latest collaboration for the short film Between Beauty and Horror (Dir. Leila Weefur) has garnered much attention for its beautiful and suspenseful score. Prior to that, they composed and produced 30 minutes of original music for Wax Poet(s) Swivel : Hinge : Return which premiered to sold out crowds at San Francisco’s CounterPulse theater on March 1st, 2018.  

Currently, they are looking for directors to work with on feature films, short films, and documentaries.
